Bedazzling! Like a Star!!

The evening has passed and surroundings were taken over with calm nightly air.

Kaveh was staring at the place of his best and worst memories. Place he could not call his own... "Just like everything else" he thought. And little did he almost get into a gloomy mood, he saw a golden spark in the field, like a firefly hiding within the flowers.

-Lumine?

She turned her head in a sudden surprise. She was somewhat ashamed that she was already 15 minutes late to his Birthday and he found her right there, as a guilty hiding mouse.

-Kaveh, I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I know we met today and I congratulated you, but I have a gift and I just didn't feel like... I was just having a spare few minutes here and I -

He noticed her eyes were all watery. Kaveh swiftly approached her.

-Lumine... are you crying? he gently cupped her cheek and put a strand away from her moonlit face.

She just stared at him in surprise eyes wide open.

Such a close gesture was unexpected.

-Oh, forgive me, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...- Kaveh became flustered fast noticing his hand was still cupping her cheek and took it away, hiding his blushing.

Lumine stood there for a moment, but seeing him all flustered, she did not want to make him feel like he did anything wrong. Especially right now. Because she indeed was feeling... alone. The grief and loss along with unending road crept all in and sabotaged her heart, in spite of the importance of attending events. It wasn't usual for her. She indeed felt like she was the one who has to apologize. Lumine took him by the wrist carefully.

-Don't be sorry, Kaveh... you did nothing wrong.- she smiled faintly. -Truth is, I was indeed feeling alone.

Kaveh's face lightened up in a bit of a surprise.

He couldn't close his hand or dared to touch her. He felt completely disarmed and unable to do anything while his wrist was touched by her fingers, wrapped around halfway, in such a gentle manner. 

Kaveh felt his heart racing, however his face was pale. He just stared at her.

-...

-Ah? Did I do something wrong? Are you alright? I wanted to say tha-

-Nothing, n-nothing, it's alright.-

Kaveh, suddenly rushed his hand out of her soft fingertips and scratched his head while looking away. He was so apparently nervous. -I... uh...-

"Damn, Kaveh. Are you an idiot? What ARE YOU DOING??? Kaveh, KAVEH... Good lord" his inner voice was slapping him with words.

"DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. WHY DID YOU RUSH YOUR HAND OUT? SHE WILL TAKE IT AS SOMETHING RUDE"

He looked at Lumine's eyes that were sparkling in the moonlight, widened and questioning. "So empathetic... ah". A moment of silent staring passed.

-You look... bedazzling. Like a star!!!

He uttered and suddenly, against all of his instincts, his hand rushed to hide his face again and this time, he became as red as the mourning flower.

"Good archonsssssss... why did I say that. Bedazzling like a star... KAVEH. Oooooh, I need to hide somewhere, SOMEPLACE. ANYWHERE"

But she smiled genuinely with her eyes closed.
